PhD Student Austin Dean Ashford has released his debut single “U Kno” from his upcoming sophomore project “Durags N Bonnets”. Despite recently closing the national ‘FOMO TOUR’ only a month ago in Los Angeles, the Bay Area-based multi-hyphenate has picked up a strong cult following through a word-of-mouth buzz from his impressive live performances that match up to this explosive single.

Inspired by the likes of OutKast, Anderson Paak, & Childish Gambino, Austin Dean Ashford takes aspects of each of his inspirations to create music that is resonating with the new sounds emerging on the indie scene.

“U KNO” is a single written through life reflections and social observations, packed full of lyrically unapologetic hip hop laced between ukulele strums, offering a refreshing sound and a taste of what’s to come from the promising to today’s mono-genre listeners.
