Bio:
Fear & Fancy is a collective of masked messengers haunted by the promise of a better tomorrow. Comprised of young front men Jidenna, Daught and Legion, Fear & Fancy cultivates a culture of searching and imagining beyond our current existence. Legion and Jidenna, old prep school chums, discovered a shared passion for lyrical expression and music production while forming Boston-based Hip Hop team Black Spadez. After parting ways to further their education on opposite sides of the land, they reunited in the Silicon Valley where Jidenna had joined forces with music producer and fellow classmate Daught. The trio then assembled the production team DarkWater Works, composing music that dissolves the border between the conscious and the commercial. The penultimate result of Fear & Fancy's experimentation is the debut album Twenty Twelve, a jubilant announcement of the dawn of an age governed by the power of love rather than the love of power. The sonicscape of Twenty Twelve blurs time and space, surveying everything from ‘80s New Wave to ‘20s Pop Standards. Among these thought-provoking, feet-wriggling jams is the Chimurenga and Mariachi mused “Right Now," a festive anthem for a sacred shindig that beckons people to the present moment. Perhaps this ability to move audiences to party and ponder is the mark of Fear & Fancy that distinguishes them beyond the marks of paint that adorn their faces during live shows. Exploring the obstacles of optimism and the paradox of time, Fear & Fancy delivers to the world the soundtrack of the next step in human evolution.

Sparoh’s “Panama” Delivers a Powerful Message of Confidence and Creative Freedom

Sparoh is an Atlanta-based artist creating music at the crossroads of melodic trap, alternative pop, and punk-fueled rebellion. Equal parts vulnerable and unapologetic, her work explores identity, liberation, and the complexities of Black womanhood.Raised in the DMV on a foundation of jazz, funk, and blues, Sparoh was drawn early to artists who challenged convention and redefined what was possible. Influenced by trailblazers like Joyce Kennedy,…See More
