Profile Information

Bio:
DaTrendsettaz - Dem Backstreet Boyz
A classic blue-collar town with less than a 100k for population sits right smack dab in the fertile crescent of the east side bay area. Welcome to Richmond, California. The city ranked number one in the state for murder per capital yet considered a national monument for building battleships during world war two. Introducing the world to the "Rosie the Riveter" working woman I-con, this city was built on hard labor through tough times. By this definition, hard work always pays off and the hardest working group in Richmond is DaTrendsettaz. A four-man clan fresh out of high school that truly brings a unique blend of chemistry that helps them separate from the rest of the pack. Tough times make tough people and DaTrendsettaz are truly built for the challenge. The members consist of Young Sticky, Ya Boy Diggz, Mr.Trend and Lil Blank Blank. Like voltron, they electrify the stage with that new hyphy, youthful, energy called "TURF DANCING". Since the 80z baby movement is alive then DaTrendsettaz could be considered the new Backstreet Boys. TURF Dancing is the streets new definition of 'boogalooing" Or "roboting/strutting". This form of break dancing originated in the west-coast streets of Los Angeles. TURF Dancing is back like box-tops fades and big amazon earrings but the latest craze is really not new at all, just a redefinition of the retro 80s lifestyle and culture. DaTrendsettaz sparked a hot little single which stamped a thumbprint on the natural progression of the youth movement in the streets. Their latest single, "I'm an 80z Baby" is generating a serious buzz on funformobile.com with over 500 ringtone downloads in the first five days upon release. D j Rick Lee from 106KMEL and UGMX studios have labeled them "the next to watch for" since being crowned the first winners of the Bay Area Wednesday Night Showcase Competition. D j Amen from 106 KMEL has always considered them one of the hottest opening acts for the Supa Hyphy Concert series opening for E-40, Mistah Fab, Too Short and The Pack among others. The Core Djs and D j Juice was the first to break their lead off single "Strike a Pose" nationwide which ended up on the Core Djs top 20 singles list and "Follow da Leadaz" mixtape vol.2 did over 4000 copies with the world famous DJ Juice handling the hosting and mixing duties. With all this being said and done, the youngest member of the group just started his senior year in High School....Damn!!

The Hated Crew to Release Highly Anticipated Album “DNA” June 5th

More than just another project, DNA represents the core identity of The Hated Crew—its influences, struggles, sound, and artistic vision woven together into one cohesive body of work. The title itself reflects the idea that music is embedded in the group’s very makeup. Every track explores the elements that form their musical “genetic code”: rhythm, storytelling,…See More

Cole Lumpkin Moves With the Music, Letting Life Shape Every Note

Cole Lumpkin doesn’t create from a distance. He creates from inside the moment. As a New York City native, his artistry reflects motion, curiosity, and constant self-interrogation. Music for Lumpkin isn’t something you step into once everything is figured out. It’s something you carry with you, refine on the move, and allow to grow alongside real life. A self-taught…See More

Prentice Grant: From Vauxhall to Legacy — The Rise of an Independent Hip-Hop Force

The first time Prentice Grant realized music could change his life, he was just a kid in Vauxhall, New Jersey, staring at the TV. Two kids not much older than him were on the screen — backwards clothes, fearless energy, commanding the world. It was Kris Kross performing “Jump.”And in that moment, something clicked. It wasn’t just the beat.It wasn’t just the crowd. It was the power. From that day forward, Prentice didn’t just listen to hip-hop — he became it.He sharpened his pen studying legends.…See More
