MATT HAZE began his DJ career in the Bronx as a husky 10 year-old, cutting up the dopest Paula Abdul and MC Hammer cassingles at his little sister's birthday party. In high school, he took a fervent interest in the NYC ska scene. To share his newfound passion, Haze started a pirate radio station, with two tape decks, a mail-order transmitter kit, and a ratty pair of old headphones that doubled as the studio mic. Today, as part of S.F.'s vaunted Slayers Club crew, Matt Haze will disorient a crowd with the quickness, using his patented ADHD NinjaBass Tricknology to slay crowds with the latest heavyweight cuts and always a few dusties from the crates! For his return to the DUB MISSION arena, Matt will play another eclectic set of classic dancehall, remixes, digital dub, ragga jungle, and a good dose of bashment to spark up the Dub Mission massive.

Prentice Grant: From Vauxhall to Legacy — The Rise of an Independent Hip-Hop Force

The first time Prentice Grant realized music could change his life, he was just a kid in Vauxhall, New Jersey, staring at the TV. Two kids not much older than him were on the screen — backwards clothes, fearless energy, commanding the world. It was Kris Kross performing “Jump.”And in that moment, something clicked. It wasn’t just the beat.It wasn’t just the crowd. It was the power. From that day forward, Prentice didn’t just listen to hip-hop — he became it.He sharpened his pen studying legends.…See More
