Event Description

Jimmy Vargas Presents: Elevaters, Yung Mars Project, Faviola...

Two of the hottest live hip-hop/soul/funk bands on one stage! This is going to be a great night for live hip-hop music.

ELEVATERS are a Los Angeles based sextet that blend funk, rock, hip hop, and soul into an accessible sound that draws audiences from all backgrounds. The energy between the six men and their audience truly lifts the mind, body and spirit.

The YUNG MARS PROJECT is an 8 piece live hip-hop band that is dripping with soul. Complete with a full horn section, background vocalists, and a solid rhythm section, the band is not afraid to take the audience on a dynamic sonic journey. Expect to see guest features from some of the Bay's finest emcees/vocalists.

FAVIOLA is a scintillating new talent to behold. The 20 year old San Francisco siren has stepped on the scene with a refreshingly spare and savvy brand of Latin soul. There is nothing gimmicky about the sweet and politicized young singer. Her vocals plume and swirl, allowing you to feel her depth, even if you don't understand her words. She was first nicknamed Faviola by collaborators Los Rakas, with whom she most recently released breakout hit single ABRAZAME.

Show is 21+, Pre-sale tickets 10$ @ Cafedunord.com 12$ at the door.
Doors open at 8:30, Live Music at 9:30

Prentice Grant: From Vauxhall to Legacy — The Rise of an Independent Hip-Hop Force

The first time Prentice Grant realized music could change his life, he was just a kid in Vauxhall, New Jersey, staring at the TV.
