Event Description

This December we have THREE great shows for you! First, on Thu Dec 9th is The Oakland Poetry Slam & Open-Mic featuring Denver's Paulie Lipmam and stand up from F.L.O. Paulie has been at this spoken word thing for about 6 years. He's been an integral part of 6 Denver National Slam Teams (including 2006's National Champions and 2004's 2nd place team) He has extensively toured the U.S. (and a little Canada) including many schools (Grade-College) and youth correctional facilities. He was recently published in the National Poetry Slam collection "High Desert Voices". He also appears as the voice of Neal Cassady in the upcoming documentary “Neal Cassady: The Denver Years”. And, he can’t wait to meet you. Pick up Paulie's new album, Inobservant at http://www.twistandshout.com/

Next, on Thurs Dec 16th is the FIRST Oakland COMEDY Slam & Open-Mic. You thought the poetry Slam was fun - wait until you get a load of a COMEDY Slam. Confirmed COMICS for this show are Caitlin Gill, Jamie DeWolf, F.L.O. & Chris Storin. Finally, for the LAST show of the YEAR (Thurs Dec 23rd) we give you not only a Slam but a Holiday Poetry PARTY! The TEAMS competing in the slam represent The Berkeley Poetry Slam, Tourettes Without Regrets, The SF Poetry Slam & Experimental-Mic and Life Sentence.
