Event Description

SAVE THE DATE! …for Sol's BIG Hawaii Five-0 Birthday Bash in April! We're going all out to celebrate this momentous occasion by bringing the look and feel of the islands straight to SF. Originally the plan was to go to Hawaii with a small group of friends for a somewhat low-key party in the islands, but since you only celebrate the this once in a lifetime we thought it might be better to bring the islands to the city and whoop it up with a few hundred of his closest friends. The date is set for Thursday April 12th at Mighty and will feature sets by more than 20 DJs from Space Cowboys, Distrikt, Nu Funk Boutique and hot duo WhiteNoize.

This will be a tropical themed affair, of course, and Mighty will be decked out full on Hawaiian style with surfboards, palm trees, leis & tiki torches. There will be Hawaiian & surf footage visuals plus plenty of tropical drink specials with those tiny little umbrellas to wet your palate like Mai Tai's, Pina Colada's and of course Sex On The Beach. Most importantly the attire will be over the top tropical, so go big or go home all you closet Tourists, Surf Bums, Hula Dancers, Hawaiian Warriors, Tiki Gods, etc…

The party starts at 9pm and 100% of the money raised will go to help Sol's father during his recovery from the liver transplant surgery he had last month. …and that would make Sol a very happy haole!

Thanks, Shaka & Mahalo!

Prentice Grant: From Vauxhall to Legacy — The Rise of an Independent Hip-Hop Force

The first time Prentice Grant realized music could change his life, he was just a kid in Vauxhall, New Jersey, staring at the TV. Two kids not much older than him were on the screen — backwards clothes, fearless energy, commanding the world. It was Kris Kross performing “Jump.”And in that moment, something clicked. It wasn’t just the beat.It wasn’t just the crowd. It was the power. From that day forward, Prentice didn’t just listen to hip-hop — he became it.He sharpened his pen studying legends.…See More
