The Game‘s fallout with 50 Cent was one of the biggest music stories of the early aughts. Per The Game himself, the beef even reached the ears of music royalty. He recently sat down for an interview with HipHopDX, in which he recalled the time Michael Jackson tried to squash the feud between the two rappers. He previously referenced the call on 2009’s “Better on the Other Side.” Obviously, the collaboration never came to fruition.
“That was weird as fuck,” he said. “Like, this ain’t how I wanna meet Michael Jackson or talk to Michael Jackson. I kinda felt like Mike was on some lame shit. Like, who sent you type shit.” One of Jackson’s representatives reached out while Game was touring in Canada.
Jackson proposed the two put their differences aside and collaborate on his upcoming album. According to Game, he even quoted a verse from the deep cut “No More Fun and Games.” After that, he brought up the idea of bringing the three parties together. “I think that you and 50 did great work,” Jackson said. “It would be a travesty if the world never got to hear you guys again. Would you be open to having a conversation and squashing that beef and doing something for my album?”
