Aurora, IL — A fresh Chicago indie artist is working hard to create a new form of the already settled rap/hip-hop genre!

Jason (JX Phantom) Dent, born on April 5th, 1981 is born and raised in Chicago and has been active in the Hip Hop market since early 2003. He has since developed greatly as both an artist and Co C.E.O of the new and independent “Midcity Records” label, and is focused on developing a mix of Trap music and Hip-hop for both the youth and adult society to bring what he calls “Trap Hop” to the new age industry. His many, and yet still growing listeners appear to be excited about the direction of innovation Phantom has been laying down, and word continues to spread in Magazines as well.

“Feeling real excited about this up and coming Dark Poetry L.P release. Hoping to see the song Tears Of Blood on it as well!” – H4KY (fellow rap artist)

– Phantoms music represents the deeper stories of life that are relatable to how society lives, and choose to deal with it’s imperfections. – Lush (producer)

If people ain’t going to be real on the mic, why bother getting on it? That is how the music is born – Jason (JX Phantom) Dent

With 4 previous albums under my belt, (Trials & Revelations: 2008, Nocturnal Scriptures: 2009, Self Explanatory: 2010, and Trials & Revelations Rebooted: 2012) all under his former stage name, Xhadow (pronounced Shadow) JX Phantom is reborn and highly advanced in today’s rap, and can do multiple styles of both old and new school rap.

Overall, this well-seasoned artist is now hard at work to combine both new and old school hip-hop and is combining the fusion into what he describes as “Trap Hop”, which he strongly feels will “Revolutionize what people today feel rap/hip-hop truly is forever”.

Sparoh’s “Panama” Delivers a Powerful Message of Confidence and Creative Freedom

Sparoh is an Atlanta-based artist creating music at the crossroads of melodic trap, alternative pop, and punk-fueled rebellion. Equal parts vulnerable and unapologetic, her work explores identity, liberation, and the complexities of Black womanhood.Raised in the DMV on a foundation of jazz, funk, and blues, Sparoh was drawn early to artists who challenged convention and redefined what was possible. Influenced by trailblazers like Joyce Kennedy,…See More
