Label New Dawn Records continue to mark their 30th anniversary with a look back to a project from their earliest days.

Underground Cartel was the brainchild of producer Kruze from Belles in Monica, an international underground hip hop collaboration with male & female rappers from around the UK, Europe, USA, Canada, Africa coming together to perform in their native languages.

In essence, a celebration of a shared culture.

Following the debut taster “Dropzone EP”, released on CD and vinyl in 2004, recording began on “Sapientia” in 2005. Completion was delayed for some considerable time before eventually being released in digital format in 2019.

From it is "U Owe It 2 Yourself [Revelations]", the video released today being a new visual representation with a recently edited audio mix.

It features Boston's The Yukonn MC (My Mans N Them), Long Beach rapper and graffiti artist Swiss Precise (Halfway House MCees, 8th & Dawson, Blown Celeb, KBH Crew), and Italian female rapper Marya, sister of Tormento and Esa.

Others who appear on the "Sapientia EP" include the sadly missed Primo Brown (R.I.P.) of Rome’s legendary Cor Veleno crew, El Meswy, originally of Madrid and now based in Brooklyn, Beni Blanco of French group “Originaire du Sud”, Zimbabwean Dumi Right now based in the DMV, Bleekwonder  (Netherlands), Grizu (Germany) and Croatian Magellano.

Manchester’s Mr CRF and London’s Creamo fly the flag for England, while the States are further represented by Brandon J Atlas of Des Moins, Tone Rome of Baltimore crew Raw Dialect, Sacramento’s Crazy Ballhead (aka Mr Hooper), Virginian Black Market and female rapper Lockness from New York City.
