Just Yola Honors Loyalty and Real Love on New Single “Day 1’s” ft. Kamaiyah

Rising Northern California artist Just Yola kicks off the year with intention and heart on her new single Day 1’s” featuring Kamaiyah. Raised in the 707 near the Oakland and San Francisco area and now based in Suisun City, CA, Just Yola brings a grounded West Coast perspective shaped by real-life experiences, close relationships, and personal growth. Released on January 1st, the record marks a powerful start to a new chapter—one built on authenticity, consistency, and honoring the people who’ve been there from the very beginning.

“Day 1’s” is inspired by loyalty, real love, and the rare connections that remain steady through life’s highs and lows. One of the song’s most emotional lines—“And when I lost faith, you prayed me through”—carries a deeply personal double meaning for Just Yola. It reflects both the loss of a loved one named Faith and moments in her own life when her belief wavered, only to be restored through the prayers and support of her closest friend. That vulnerability gives the song its soul, transforming it into more than a collaboration—it’s a testimony. Kamaiyah’s presence adds warmth and credibility, perfectly complementing the song’s message and West Coast energy.

The single also serves as an early introduction to Just Yola’s upcoming self-titled project LANDA (release date TBA), named after her childhood nickname and representing her true beginning. As her first full-length body of work, LANDA will showcase her evolution since Notes from the Heart, highlighting her growth, versatility, and expanding creative reach under Silver Dollar Entertainment. With visuals on the way, more collaborations lined up, and a growing fanbase fueled by consistent performances, Just Yola is clearly entering a season of momentum—one guided by purpose, faith, and the power of Day 1s who never leave.
