Bio:
Slim Emcee [UG] the poet a.k.a Kabubi Herman was born in Kampala, Uganda (East Africa) where he began writing poetry, singing, and dancing at an early age. His first poem, “Val for Val” paved way for his writing carrier as well as becoming a performance poet. He is one of the pioneers of performance poetry in Uganda, as well as supporting each and every poetry night in Kampala.
He attended Kyambogo University where he received a Bachelor of Community Based Rehabilitation. He has continued to write his poetry, sing, backup other artistes, Emcee, song write, performs his poetry and singing at festivals, workshops, forums, open MICS, family gatherings, Hip-Hop summits and the various poetry sessions.
As a prolific writer, he recites poems echoing the shifting allegiance of African natives from their roots to popular Western cultures and how these experiences are translated into a hybrid society, social issues that continue to affect people. In general, his writing is all-round.
Slim Emcee is also a Copywriter and a co founder of Fortune Unlimited where he is an administrator, poetry teacher, mentor, writer, MC, as well as a performance poet. He also represents other movements such as Poetry in session, Bavubuka Dynasty, B.Global, and Afrikan Yoga.

He also works with Bayimba Foundation as the DOADOA (East African Performing Arts Market) Coordinator.
