For the first time ever, Cypress Hill are releasing a full-length Spanish-language album. Titled Dios Bendiga — which translates to “God bless you” — the record is due out July 24th via HYBE Latin America.
With longtime percussionist Eric Bobo serving as the “musical director,” Cypress Hill hit the studio in November for a marathon two-week session. Along the way, they worked with several new and established artists, including Mexican-American rap duo Coyote, songwriter Poe Leos, Mexico’s Alemán, and Argentina’s Trueno.
The resulting album is (per a press release) a “thrilling new chapter in a celebrated legacy that has spanned across cultures, languages, and territories.” The album also serves as an “anthem of strength and resistance, delivering a beacon of hope and call for unity in response to the state of the world today.”
