Last Friday (May 10), the Showtime network premiered the four-part Wu-Tang Clan documentary, Wu-Tang: Of Mics & Men. The Mass Appeal film is directed and produced by Sacha Jenkins, with the members of Wu also serving as producers, and covers more than 30 years of history surrounding the nine founding members, as well as affiliates including Cappadonna, DJ Mathematics, and Cilvaringz, among others.
In conjunction with the film, which is currently available on Showtime’s streaming platform, it is now announced that Wu is releasing new music this week. The Clan says it is dropping new tracks this Friday (May 17). Although details are limited, the collective confirmed the release on social media, confirming the new music is “inspired by the series.” The project will be released through Mass Appeal Records, in conjunction with the collective’s latest 36 Chambers imprint.
