Pennsylvania rapper Ty Baby looks to inspire, influence with music 

WILKES BARRE, Penn. — Up and coming Pennsylvania rapper Ty Baby is relatively new to music but he’s looking to show his progression with his mixtape “Voice of My Circle,” and a number of single coming out in the next few weeks. 

At age 21, Ty Baby got his start when a friend wrote him a song for his 17th birthday called “Flex.” He and his friends recorded the song and it can be seen on Youtube.  

Ty Baby said his goal is to make “relatable, influential music.” 

I want to touch people in that dark spot,” Ty said. “I just want to let people know that people have been in any situation you’ve been in and it can get better, you’ve got to keep pushing, never give up. Follow your dreams and things will get better. That’s what I want to give to people. Relatable music, soul-touching music, chill-giving music, that’s what I want to give.” 

His latest work is a mixtape called “Voice of My Circle,” released on all platforms with nine tracks with names such as “Empty Hearts,” “All In,” and “Soul Splitter.” 

“That album, I’m basically making music for my circle and if you like it, you do, if you don’t you don’t,” Ty said. “That’s what that mixtape was for. It’s like the voice of my circle, I’m speaking for my family, my team, my people, I’m letting you know what I stand for.” 

His favorite song on the tape is “All In.” 

“I was really speaking about my life,” Ty said. “It was like pain, I was really feeling it. To this day, that song really put me in a different state of mind. I can’t even really explain it.” 

Another song on the take, “Wild, Wild West,” was just a fun song that came to him. 

“There’s not even really a story behind it, I just made it,” Ty said. “It was fun. It was a fun vibe and I needed a couple more songs for the project so I sent it to a couple close friends and relatives to see if they liked it, because I didn’t really like it. They said they loved it, I didn’t get one person who said they didn’t like it, so I put it on the project.” 

Ty Baby said fans should look for a series of new songs to come out in the next few weeks. He said he’s trying to grow his fan base and introduce more people to his sound. 

“I’ve got a fan base now but I know I can get it bigger,” he said. “I just have a lot of singles and my singles I’ve got right now, they’re different than the songs I have on the mixtape or anything I’ve got out right now.  

“It’s better, you can see the development, the way I attack everything. I’m definitely working on my craft to separate myself from the others. I’m working to get better.”
