The Game & Anderson .Paak’s Collaboration Is A New Westside Story (Video)

At the top of this month, The Game released a new single from what is billed to be his final album. Jayceon Taylor maintains the longstanding, bubbling chemistry with Anderson .Paak on “Stainless,” which arrives ahead of November 29’s Born 2 Rap.

The lyrics to “Stainless” celebrate Game’s career as a Gangsta Rap artist who brought the spotlight back to Compton and Los Angeles during the mid-2000s. He boasts about going multi-platinum in the days before streaming numbers. The onetime Dr. Dre protege also pledges his allegiances to Dre (who has mentored Anderson in recent years), while claiming that he remains in communication with the incarcerated Suge Knight. Wearing a Death Row Records medallion in the video (the label that Dre and Suge founded), The Game wants to keep a classic West Coast Gangsta Rap vibe alive.

The video does, with an assortment of classic ’60s Chevrolet lowriders and some custom-painted contemporary foreigns. The Game and Anderson ride around in the L.A. night. At one sequence, Jayceon recreates several of his iconic album covers. This song’s lyrics from Game cover some history around Tupac Shakur, Death Row, and the streets of Compton.

Sparoh’s “Panama” Delivers a Powerful Message of Confidence and Creative Freedom

Sparoh is an Atlanta-based artist creating music at the crossroads of melodic trap, alternative pop, and punk-fueled rebellion. Equal parts vulnerable and unapologetic, her work explores identity, liberation, and the complexities of Black womanhood.Raised in the DMV on a foundation of jazz, funk, and blues, Sparoh was drawn early to artists who challenged convention and redefined what was possible. Influenced by trailblazers like Joyce Kennedy,…See More
