Talib Kweli has announced his new album, Cultural Currency, which will be available in partnership with an independent subscription service called Patreon.
The service will offer Kweli’s fans tiered subscriptions ranging from $5 to $25 a month. Included within the tears is exclusive access to the album and a new single every month, monthly unreleased track/video from Hip Hop legends curated by Talib Kweli, access to a Patreon Only Discord to connect with Talib and his crew and exclusive stickers, signed vinyl’s, live Q&As and more.
“I am considered an underground rapper. My lyrics critique the status quo,” Kweli said. “On paper, I was not supposed to be a successful artist. I succeeded in spite of the odds because I was always able to go around the industry and connect with my fans directly. When the music industry told me no, I built an industry around myself. Working with Patreon is the next step in this evolution.
