Swiggle Mandela - "Needed" ft. Westside Boogie, Jasey Cordeta & Kenai

Swiggle Mandela will be releasing his latest single "Needed" Friday, Jan. 15. The song is his first with Compton-based Shady Records rapper Westside Boogie. The song also features Swiggle's brother Jasey Cordeta, and LA-based singer Kenai.

"Needed" is a catchy, melodic dance hit that doesn't hold back on sentimentality and thoughtfulness in the verses from Mandela, Boogie and Cordeta. "It's an honor to work with Boogie, and to be able to give my brother Jasey Cordeta and the homie Kenai the opportunity as well," Mandela said. "We all respect his music. These kind of moments are what we've hustled so long for."

The song is the first single off of Mandela's sophomore album "Movie Money," which will be released in 2021.

Swiggle Mandela is a native Portlander and one of the most prominent figures in his home city's hip hop scene. He has begun to break onto the national scene with shows in Los Angeles, Detroit and Minneapolis.

Westside Boogie is one of the biggest hip hop artists on the west coast, his debut album "Everything's for Sale"charted at number 28 on the Billboard charts and received wide acclaim and praise from critics. He followed it up with a sold out nationwide tour.

About Swiggle Mandela:

Swiggle Mandela is one of the most prominent figures in the Portland hip hop community. He has been making music almost his entire life and is the leader of the collaborative La Familia Gang Music, which includes his two brothers Timmi HendriXXX and Jasey Cordeta, along with a bevy of other artists primarily based in Portland. In October 2015, Mandela released “Portland Parks,” which he says is when his music matured and he dedicated all of his time and resources to making music. Mandela opened Shop La Familia and Co-op in North Portland in January 2019 to give hip hop artists a place to sell their music, merchandise and art. One of his main inspirations to open a store was Nipsey Hussle.

He has since traveled around the country playing shows, including recent trips to Detroit and Los Angeles. Critics praise Mandela’s musical versatility, lyricism, and conscious rap style.
