On the heels of his guest appearance on the Method Man-Redman 4/20 Verzuz battle, the all-everything musician known as the RZA has more news to announce. On Wednesday, the 51-year-old released “Pugilism,” his first single under the alias Bobby Digital in 13 years.
The track will appear on his fourth album Bobby Digital: Digital Potions. In addition to the new album, RZA is relaunching his 36 Cinema film screening series, Saturday Afternoon Kung Fu Theater.
The series screened classic kung fu films and blaxploitation classics with live commentary from guests like Michael Jai White, Donnell Rawlings, and Jim Jarmusch. Stunt actress Shaina West and martial artist Scott Adkins of The Bourne Ultimatum and Zero Dark Thirty also joined the show during its first round of programming. The Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art, as well as Queens’ Museum of the Moving Image assisted in the process.
