For the fourth time, Questlove sat down with Nardwuar to nerd over old records. This time, the two met up at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
They were joined by Black Thought, who showed up about 10 minutes into the interview. Throughout the interview, Nardwuar showcased a bunch of obscure Philadelphia records to Questlove, who was rarely stumped (to his credit.) One record that caught Questlove off guard was “The Unbeatable Dream,” the rap single from NBA legend Hakeem Olajuwon.
Near the end of the talk, Questlove revealed that he was trying to set up a Barack Obama interview for Nardwuar. Unfortunately, Quest couldn’t make it happen.
