One of 2019's greatest (few) joys has been watching Minnesota singer Lizzo skyrocket to stardom following the release of Cuz I Love You, her third album and first major label debut. The album is great, her interviews are a delight, and her live performances are incredibly fun, thanks in no small part to Lizzo’s creativity and ability to bust out the flute.
This is all the more evident in the above clip of Lizzo performing single “Truth Hurts” at the BET Awards on Sunday night, atop a wedding cake, no less. This set had everything—wedding veils, sparkly sunglasses, a flute solo, literal fire, and a mid-performance standing ovation from Rihanna (2:31).
