BY DIMAS SANFIORENZO • MARCH 27 2019
Two of the coldest underground rappers ever are connecting for a new album. On March 29th MED, the protege of Madlib, and Guilty Simpson, J Dilla’s protege, will release a joint album called Child of the Jungle, via the BangYaHead label.
The album will feature production from the likes of Madlib, Black Milk, MNDSGN, Karriem Riggins, Apollo Brown, and more. We have been longtime admires of these two for a long time, and we’re proud to premiere the first single from the upcoming album. The song is called “Visions” and features assistance from veteran singer Georgia Anne Muldrow and production from Big Nottz.
Over Nottz’ soulful production, MED and Guilty Simpson rap about their musical journeys. They’ve come a long way since they both first linked, on J Dilla’s “Jungle Love” off of The Shining LP.
