Lakeith Stanfield on Playing Joker: "Wait Until They See Me Do It"

Stanfield appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote The Photograph with Issa Rae.
The list of Joker portrayals is already star-studded. When you think of the character, names like Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, and most recently, Joaquin Phoenix come to mind. If Lakeith Stanfield has his way, that list could get a little longer in the future.

Stanfield joined Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss The Photograph, his upcoming film with Issa Rae. Additionally, they discussed Stanfield’s stint in modeling school, as well as his last film, Josh and Benny Safdie’s instant cult classic Uncut Gems.

The conversation eventually moved to the Joker premiere. Kimmel pointed out that Stanfield dressed up as Gotham’s Clown Prince of Crime for the showing. He continued, asking about the multiple reports of Stanfield saying he wanted to play the character in a movie.
