Producer J. Period has released The RISE UP Project. The 10-track release features a handful of artists including Black Thought, Dead Prez, De La Soul‘s Posdnuos, Rhymefest, and others.

“For two years, we’ve been on a mission to bring artists together across the country to inspire all-star collaborations, dynamic performances, and honest conversations…through music,” the producer and mixtape DJ tweeted, teasing the project before its release.

Period had first teased RISE UP two years ago, releasing the tracklist and features for it. Prior to RISE UP, the producer released The Live Mixtape [#Top5MCs Edition]. The project features songs that were performed and recorded live on stage in one take when Period hooked up with three Rakim, Black Thought, and Pharoahe Monch for a live mixtape performance at the Sony Hall in New York City last year.
