Currently celebrating the success of his Danny’s House show on Viceland, Danny Brown will be getting back to the music with the release of his new album, uknowwhatimsayin, dropping October 4th.
To help kick off the campaign, the Detroit rapper comes through with a video for the lead single, “Dirty Laundry.” The song is produced by Q-Tip, who will be acting as Executive Producer of the album, as well.
“There was no room for error,” Danny Brown said in a press release. “Q-Tip wanted me to go back to that ‘Greatest Rapper Ever’ era. I almost had to relearn how to rap again—an ego death type thing. He gave me this whole new outlook on music. I can’t go back to how I was before.”
“This is [Q-Tip’s] album. I can’t take no credit. I’m just an actor in his movie,” he continued. “Which was so much less stressful for me, working on albums and stuff. A lot of sleepless nights working on songs and stuff. Now, I ain’t have to worry about it. I had just had to show up and rap which made it back fun for me again.”
