On Friday, Nigerian MC Burna Boy dropped his fifth studio album, Twice as Tall. The album’s seventh track, “Naughty By Nature,” features a special treat for East Coast hip-hop heads as the New Jersey MCs of the track’s namesake appear for the first time in years.
Burna spoke with Apple Music about the inspiration behind the track and what Naughty By Nature meant to him as a child.
“Growing up they were definitely one of my favorite groups,” he said. “I literally grew up listening to these man, so it might sound crazy or impossible to have them on my album all this time later, but I swear to you: nothing is really impossible. Even right now with all this COVID stuff going, there’s a way. If you really wanna make something happen, then there’s always a way to it. Trust me, it’s not impossible.”
