Black Thought dropped the news during an interview with The Crate 808 podcast.
It’s been a pretty busy year for Black Thought. Fresh off the release of Streams of Thought, Vol. 3: Cane and Able, The Roots’ frontman has shown up on tracks with Statik Selektah, Common, and British singer Liam Bailey in the past couple of months. In a recent interview with The Crate 808 Hip-Hop Podcast, Thought revealed he’s working on even more material. Stream the full conversation below.
In the interview, Thought unveiled Dopamine, a supergroup assembled by T-Bone Burnett. Members include Elvis Costello, DJ Premier, Nathaniel Rateliff and Cassandra Wilson.
“A really unusual sort of motley crew,” Thought admitted. “It’s weird how the songs come to be. Essentially live instrumentation, Premier is right there and he sorta takes it and chops it up.”
