In a little over a week, Anderson .Paak will release his second album in six months. April 12’s Ventura promises to live in a different musical zip code than late 2018’s Oxnard. Andy has made an impression in Hip-Hop, Soul, Funk, R&B, Electronic, Rock & Roll, and more. Within, he can rap, sing, produce, and play the drums. This time, it is reportedly about driving that Soul.
“Make It Better” is Paak’s first Ventura video, and second single, following last month’s “King James.” In his catalog, Anderson has some standout ballads like 2014’s “Miss Right.” This latest song is more of an attempt at a relationship recharge. Smokey Robinson is a living legend behind such unforgettable songs as “Tracks Of My Tears,” “Tears Of A Clown,” and “You’ve Really Got A Hold On Me.” As much as any songwriter, he understands the complexities of love. The Motown master assists Paak on the vocals and the writing for a song out to rally the passion back into a relationship. The video sees a couple (with the singer playing the male) following along to the narrative of recreating those best times.
