Event Description

Bich Minh Nguyen's latest novel is Pioneer Girl. Short Girls, a novel, was an American Book Award winner in fiction and and a Library Journal best book of the year. Stealing Buddha's Dinner, a memoir, received the PEN/Jerard Award from the PEN American Center and was a Chicago Tribune Best Book of the Year and a Kiriyama Prize Notable Book.

Ariel Gore is the editor & publisher of the Alternative Press Award-winning magazine Hip Mama and the author of eight books. Her latest, The End of Eve, chronicles her years spent caring for her dying mother.


Juliette Wade has appeared in Clarkesworld and several times in Analog magazine, where her most recent story, "The Liars," was illustrated by Michael Whelan (Oct 2012 issue).


David Winter is the author of the poetry chapbook Safe House (Thrush Press, 2013).


Baruch Porras-Hernandez is a writer, performance artist, organizer, actor and storyteller based in San Francisco. He has performed all over California, Washington D.C., NYC, and Canada. His writing has been published in numerous anthologies, he regularly organizes poetry shows in the bayarea, and is currently the curator and head organizer for The San Francisco Queer Performance Series.
