Event Description

Inhouse Talent Re-Launches WE ALL WE GOT as Independent Artist Showcase Series

WE ALL WE GOT is re-launching Friday July 24, 2009 with an independent artist showcase at an exciting new San Francisco venue. This new event offers a platform for emerging independent artists to be seen and industry creatives to connect with talent. Presented by Inhouse Talent and hosted by Revolutionary Poet Sellassie, WE ALL WE GOT is designed to expose interesting and determined artists, cultivate relationships, and build community among independents. At a beautiful, new Mission District venue, The Blue Macaw boasts a great stage, sound system, mezzanine, lounge area and location.

Advocates of independent music, Inhouse Talent’s Gina Gallo and Sellassie see the opportunity to contribute to the local arts community among ambitious, forthcoming artists. Hip Hop artist Sellassie states, “We are the Future” and realizes the vast talent here in the Bay Area. “Local promoters bring in all these other rappers from all over the country for shows and have stars right here in the Bay.”

Just nominated for a West Coast Hip Hop Award, event host, Sellassie is shining as a leading progressive voice in Bay Hip Hop. With a debut release, I’m Tryin’ to Make a Livin’ Not a Killin’, Sellassie explores socio-economic inequities, political injustices and the realities of ghetto life. With a fresh perspective and new sound, Sellassie is an alternative in today’s hip-hop, proof that there are young black artists that can make music that is creative, street and smart.

Sponsored by Hard Knock Radio (HKR), 94.1 FM- KPFA's daily drive time Hip Hop public affairs show, is a natural fit. HKR, hosted by Davey D, Weyland Southon, Anita Johnson and DJ Mike Biggz, hit the air weekdays at 4pm offering news, views, breaks, and beats. On the community radio station KPFA, has allowed HKR the freedom to provide an outlet for national and international urban artists and musicians largely ignored by the Hip Hop media. Ever-growing, HKR is heard in the Bay Area as well as syndicated on WFRG in Atlanta, KBOO in Portland, KBCS in Seattle, and on XM Satellite Radio and world-wide on kpfa.org.

Everybody is suddenly paying attention to 4Bizy… and honestly, it feels overdue. The rebrand has people talking, but it’s the silence behind it that’s making everyone curious. New image. New direction. Different mindset. Since the rebrand, the energy around his name has been completely different. Now, with July 18th right around the corner, the buzz is getting louder every day. It feels less like a concert and more like the beginning of something bigger. This isn’t a wave or a trend. This is…See More
