SUMMARY:Throw Down for the Town: The Oakland Service Festival
DESCRIPTION:Join us on July 28th for our Second Annual Throw Down for 
 the Town: The Oakland Service Festival. Last year, over 300 people vol
 unteered at 25 service projects throughout Oakland. This event is abou
 t our city coming together to transform neighborhoods and help Oakland
  thrive.  This year, we have more than 30 inspiring and engaging servi
 ce projects confirmed and our goal is to have over 500 volunteers. The
  projects range from community gardening, cleaning up litter, and pain
 ting schools.   Browse our map and our list of projects here and RSVP 
 for a project that is right for you.\n\nThere will be service projects
  from 10AM to 1PM throughout Oakland (find map here) followed by a com
 munity festival from 12:30-3:30PM at Snow Park. The festival will feat
 ure music by hip-hop artist Mystic, an award-winning and well-known Oa
 kland native, as well as other local musicians, food, community organi
