SUMMARY:The Land Trio
DESCRIPTION:The Land Trio uses Tabla, Kamanche, Charango, Coco-banjo,
Requinto Jarocho and Guitar. The musicians gathered in The Land Trio c
ome from different cultures and various latitudes, and so does the mus
ic they play. Based on the idea that communication is able to free mus
ic from cultural and national frames, The Land Trio mixes instruments
that come from different traditions, allowing them to play together a
nd to find new ways of communication through sound while keeping thei
 r traditional idiom.\nSaba Alizadeh\nBorn in 1983 Iran, Saba is both a

accolades as “… Alizadeh ‘s images are irresistible, poetic, ye
 t true…” -Shargh newspaperand Canada.\nJxel Rajchenberg\nI’m a m
exican musician who likes to walk. Curiosity is leading the boat, ther
e’s no plan, there’s only wandering. My art making is pedestrian,
most of my composing happens on a bicycle, in a cup of coffee or surro
unded by my people. I try to learn from every culture, every instrumen
 t. I am amazed by the richness of the world. I make mexican music tha
t sometimes blends with computers, some others with instruments coming
from other latitudes, sometimes with contemporary music, sometimes wi
th dance. I am studying for my Doctorate of Arts degree at CalArts as
 a composer and a performer.\nJavad Butah\nA disciple of world-renowned
Tabla master Pandit Anindo Chatterjee, Javad’s comprehensive approa
ch to the instrument reflects his training at the hands of one of the
finest Tabla artists alive today. In addition to his impressive tech
nique, Javad’s overall musicality, expressed equally in solo perform
ance and accompaniment, leaves a lasting impression on listeners and h
as made him an in-demand young artist. Javad is amongst a few who have
had the rare honor of becoming an official “gandabandh” disciple
of Pandit Anindo Chatterjee. He has had the honor of accompanying wor
ld-renowned artists such as Ustad Aashish Khan and Ustad Sultan Khan.
He has played in such venues worldwide as the Peter Norton Symphony Sp
ace in New York, the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, the San Fra
ncisco Conservatory of Music, and the Saptak Music Festival in Ahmedab
ad, India. Recently, Javad earned a graduate degree under the tutelage
and guidance of Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri, eminent exponent of the Luck
now Gharana, at the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles, C
 A. With a deep love for the inexhaustible art of tabla, Javad is alway
s continuing to learn and develop. His playing, noteworthy for its cla
rity and fine sound quality, represents a virtuosic tradition alive i
 n a new generation.\n\nFor more information visit https://trueskool.co
