As many of you may know she has been the guiding force of the Be rkeley Slam since taking over for Berkeley Slam founder, Charles “Ek abhumi” Ellik a few years ago. She has dedicated so much of her time over the years from even before her time as slam master to today. He has been a force in Bay Area s poken word since 1999. His reach expanded internationally after winnin g the 2003 National Poetry Slam Grand Championship. McGee soon after e mbarked on an international poetry and comedy tour, which has taken hi m to venues and festivals all over Europe, Canada and the U.S. He has since become a favorite performer to many schools around the U.S. and was one of the first Americans to perform at the University of Paris ( La Sorbonne) and Glastonbury, the largest music festival in the world.
