About a year ago Sweater Funk’s Sean Sullivan aka Sean Boogie came upon Psychic Mirrors' music one quiet evening while trolling the interwebs looking for soulful rares (after spending his day trolling the local bins for soulful rares!). A purchase was made immeadiately upon the first listen to the soulful boogie funk he heard! This was quality boogie tunage! And from a LIVE BAND no less, a live boogie band is almost as rare as a private press boogie 45 from 82! Sean soon told everyone that we all needed to buy multiple copies ASAP and that we’d be booking them inside of a year to play with us in San Francisco!

Sweater Funk is excited to present Miami’s 12 piece boogie band Psychic Mirrors for their first ever performance in San Francisco! Drawing inspiration from their hometown of Miami, FL and boogie funk records of the early 1980s, this 12 piece ensemble creates the classic boogie sounds we love and re-interprets them for modern funk dancefloors of today! They are a decisively analog experience that includes a horn section, vocals, and an army of synths. As you know, analog is the rule and vinyl funk is the format of choice at any Sweater Funk event! 2012 was an exciting one for Psychic Mirrors & their label Cosmic Chronic, seeing Psychic Mirrors single “Mystic Hustle” covered by record conneseur magazine Wax Poetics and boutique online shop SVPPLY.com. 2013 is proving to be yet another big year for the Psychic Mirrors gang with the much anticipated Psychic Mirrors EP to be released before the year is out and a national tour underway, the band is set to launch into the international spotlight with their growing legion of fans!
