 rs ago in New York City was primarily the result of my experience perf
 orming at Dub Mission and seeing the amazing response of the crowd wee
 k after week to these events that DJ Sep was organizing. I felt we nee
 ded something like that in New York for both artists and fans of the m

 val on the West Coast. An international musical phenomenon, dub is a 
 musical style characterized by heavy bass, drums, and copious use of e
 ffects, where the producer becomes the artist, with the mixing board a
 s his or her instrument. The festival features performances and educat
 ional workshops to exhibit how the music is created and how it has evo
 lved from its roots in ‘70s Jamaica to become a cornerstone of elect
 ronic bass music. Dub is a major inspiration to artists in many genres
  including rap, rock, punk and dance music. Dub Champions Festival was
  founded in New York City by Emch of Subatomic Sound System and is ded
 icated to featuring the world’s greatest dub pioneers from Jamaica a
 s well as current innovators on every Continent. The festival happens 
 in New York City, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Boston, Vienna, Amsterd
