 w York), Ren the Vinyl Archaeologist made his mark by curating top not
 ch events featuring hip hop legends and emerging artists from the Bay 
 and beyond. In 2001, his True Skool events won the \"Best of the Bay\"
  in the SF Bay Guardian. Since True Skool's inception in 1999, his onl
 ine magazine and newsletter has served as an information resource that
  covers hip hop history, politics, and events. As a DJ, he has spun al
 ongside pioneers such as Mixmaster Mike, Grandmaster Flash, Jazzy Jeff
 , Kool Herc, Afrika Bambaataa, Kool DJ Red Alert, Q-Bert, Cut Chemist,
  DJ Premier, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, DJ Cash Money, DJ Bobbito, and Rich
  Medina. In addition, he shared bills with world-renowned artists such
  as The Roots, Erykah Badu, Lupe Fiasco, Wu-Tang Clan, Michael Franti 
 & Spearhead, KRS-One, Lyrics Born, Pharcyde, and the list goes on. Ren
  is a professional party rocker who can put it down among the best of 
 them with a vast arsenal of music to drop on any dancefloor, ranging f
 rom hip hop, reggae & soul to electro, house and breaks. Ren has appea
 red on numerous publications, such as the XLR8R, 7x7, SF Weekly, SF Ma
 gazine and SF Examiner, to name a few. He has graced the Bay Area with
  his non-stop seemless sets, making appearances at San Francisco's pre
 miere venues such as Temple, Mighty, Mezzanine, Ruby Skye, 1015, The I
