In 1996, Bay Area nightlife was in a rut. Hip-hop had ceased to be creatively viable for tha most part, legendary parties such as Cream of Beat were stopped due to violence and numerous venues closed their doors. Visionary promoters Deshawn Mitchell and Javier Laval decided it was time for tha scene to be reborn....Rebirth became one of tha Bay Area's beloved parties. 12 years later, tha time has come again. This is not simply a party, but a movement to make nightlife as innovative and life-affirming as it can be.
