 n Boogie.\n\nOne of the original turntablists, J. Rocc founded the Bea
 t Junkies in 1992 with Melo-D and Rhettmatic, but has done just as muc
 h on his own as in a group setting. He began DJing in the mid-'80s wit
 h a California group named PSK. Soon after forming, the Beat Junkies b
 ecame a seminal force in the rise of instrumental hip-hop, including c
 ore member Babu plus future stars Shortkut and D-Styles.\n\nIn additio
 n to numerous mixtapes and his own production for Stones Throw release
 s, J. Rocc has been the DJ for Madlib's live shows since the early 200
 0's, was the 3rd member of Jaylib (Madlib & J Dilla) during the group'
 s live events, and collaborated with Madlib on Beat Konducta Vol. 5-6:
  A Tribute to J Dilla.\n\nOne of the founders and original members of 
 the Invisbl Skratch Piklz (ISP), Apollo helped introduce a revolutiona
 ry art form to the music world. The Piklz created the turntable band: 
 an artform in which turntables become the instruments that form all of
  the various sounds. The original Invisibl Skratch Piklz squad compris
 ed of Apollo, Mix Master Mike and Qbert (also known as the Rock Steady
  DJs), and each artist possessed the skills to play various musical ro
 les. These included the role of the drummer, bass player, and lead scr
 atch or turntablist. The combined talent of his team earned the group 
 the titles of Disco Mixing Club (DMC) United States and World Champion
 s (1992), awards which are the highest honors a DJ group can earn. The
  original ISP won them on both the national and international levels.\
 n\nIn 1999, Apollo joined up with two other legendary DJs, Shortkut (B
 eat Junkies) and Vinroc (5th Platoon), to form the super DJ group Trip
 le Threat. The only collective comprised of all turntable champions fr
 om major turntable crews, Triple Threat strives to master as many musi
 cal styles as possible as they produce tracks, compose music on the on
 es and twos, and rock a party with three times the power of your avera
 ge turntable legend. Triple Threat has expanded into a music label and
  events promotions company as well.\n\nCarey Kopp blames his upbringin
 g outside of Detroit for his musical obsession. Deeply influenced by t
 he classic Motown sound and fellow Michigan hip hoppers, you can catch
  him spinning classic soul & funk to golden era hip-hop. You can catch
