About the readers/performers:

Glen David Gold's's three-volume memoir, I Will Be Complete, is forthcoming in 2018. He's also the author of the novels Carter Beats the Devil and Sunnyside. His essays and short fiction have appeared in McSweeney's, Playboy, New York Times Sunday Magazine, Tin House, Wired and Zyzzyva.

Mark Oshiro is the Hugo-nominated writer of the online Mark Does Stuff universe (Mark Reads and Mark Watches), where he analyzes book and television series unspoiled, largely in the SF/F genres. He was the nonfiction editor of Queers Destroy Science Fiction!. He's the author of a forthcoming YA novel.

Denise Benavides is a queer xicana performance artist, poet, and educator based in Oakland, California. She uses the stage/page to confront themes of xenophobia, relocation, sexuality, religion, and love. Always, love. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Mills College and is currently teaching at Skyline College. Her debut collection of poetry, Split, was released in the fall of 2016 by Kórima Press.

Robyn Bennis is the author of The Guns Above. She's a scientist living in Mountain View, California, where she works in biotech but dreams of airships. She has done research and development involving human gene expression, neural connectomics, cancer diagnostics, rapid flu testing, gene synthesis, genome sequencing, being so preoccupied with whether she could that she never stopped to think if she should, and systems integration.

Christina Ann-Marie DiEdoardo is the author of Lanza's Mob: The Mafia and San Francisco. She's a criminal defense lawyer working in SF. She was part of the team of activists and lawyers who secured the repeal in 1998 of San Diego Municipal Code 56.19, the last enforced criminal ordinance in a major American city which targeted transgender people for appearing in public. She's the only openly transgender attorney licensed to practice law in the state of Nevada, and she crafted the procedure for Nevada courts to grant legal name and gender changes, which is still being used, with some modifications, to this day.

About Writers With Drinks:

Writers With Drinks has won numerous "Best ofs" from local newspapers, and has been mentioned in 7x7, Spin Magazine and one of Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City novels. The spoken word "variety show" mixes genres to raise money for local causes. The award-winning show includes poetry, stand-up comedy, science fiction, fantasy, romance, mystery, literary fiction, erotica, memoir, zines and blogs in a freewheeling format.
