4:30-6pm: Children's Bomba and Plena workshop
Direct from NYC Los Pleneros de la 21 teach a hands-on youth Plena and Bomba workshop that will engage children in Plena "toques" and songs as well as Bomba song and dance.
Cost: $10-$20 sliding scale.

7-9pm: Adult's Bomba and Plena workshop
Three musicians and plena practitioners of the New York-based Los Pleneros de la 21 return to the Bay area for the second time to share and explore the particularities of plena drumming, singing and dancing as developed and lived in New York. The inter-generational trio will guide workshop participants through interactive exercises and activities that teach the musicality, the poly-rhythms of the Puerto Rican musical genre as well as some of its variances as developed in New York and by different generations of Plenero practitioners. Participants are encouraged to bring their own instruments.
