Age: All Ages+\n>> BUY TICK ETS\n\nKDTU is a band on a mission.  Based out of San Diego, KDTU beg an its journey in 1998 after bandleader Karl Denson decided to take a break from his longtime band The Greyboy Allstars which he helped to f orm five years earlier. GBA had proven themselves as the ultimate part y band, spreading their \"West Coast Boogaloo\" style all over the wor ld and making \"Jazz\" a dance term again. KDTU set out to take this f ormula to the next level by putting more emphasis on vocals and adding some funk, r&b and hip hop elements. It turned out to be a winning co mbination which set KDTU on the top of the heap in the touring world f rom 1999 through 2005. In 2005 Karl decided to take a break to get bac k to his roots and work in a smaller jazz setting.  During 2006 and 2 007 Karl led KD3, a trio configuration featuring Sax, Organ and Drums. This led to the 2007 release of Karl Denson's \"Lunar Orbit\" album w hich was a great critical success.
