Event Description

Blusion for World Fusion presents Local Eyes, a fundraiser for the Sonoma County Time Bank, a non-profit, fiscally sponsored by the Leadership Institute for Ecology and Economy. With your help we can raise the funds that we need to operate and keep the TimeBank open.

Join us Saturday, May 28th at Aubergine and learn about the Sonoma County Time Bank. This will be a wild night with lots of activities, costumes, face painting, prizes, great music, delicious food, visual projections and many non-profits to help us learn about social change opportunities and activism.

Doors at 6pm, be sure to come early for dinner, there's a special treat on the menu prepared by Aubergine just for this occasion.

For your dining pleasure enjoy the sweet sounds of Musical Action Committee with their classy renditions of your jazz favorites. Digest and get yourself ready for a rockin' night of fun and mindfully outlandish activity.

Your host, KRSH & KRCB radio personality Doug Jayne, will keep us focused on all the wonders & excitement going on throughout the night. He might even serenade us with a tune or two from his personal hits that span over a decade of his musical career. Doug's zany style and political savvy will keep the night moving with clarity and humor.

Musical guests include the melodically aggressive acoustic rock diva Tami Gosnell, this night performing with her band. Imagine if you will a Janis Joplin/Ani Difranco concert and you will begin to get a hint of what you're about to experience. Her thought provoking lyrics and dynamic melodies will keep you engaged and feeling the power.

Keep that powerful feeling alive, put on your dancin' shoes and get ready for the Zappaesque Politiko Rough-Jazz sounds of Blusion. Upbeat, offbeat, unconventional and often controversial the Blusion fusion of funk, Latin, reggae, blues, jazz hip-hop and rock violates genre descriptions. Solid groove and big fun keeps your booty shakin' and your brain cells bakin'.

Capping off the night is San Francisco's highly acclaimed Jazz Mafia All-Stars. A creative force on the Bay Area music scene for more than a decade, this tightly-knit band of jazz cats, MCs, arrangers and composers is fast emerging as the most prolific musical organization on the West Coast. Launching some of the Bay Area's most innovative and stylistically expansive ensembles, these musicians contribute their varied talents to a cross-cultural mix of new beats and melodies, blended with instrumental virtuosity.

This will definitely be a night to remember!

And for your memories you can dress up, make a sign or just be yourself and step into the Portrait Booth. We'll have hats, wigs, masks and more, or bring your own and get yourself on the big screen. Don't forget, lots of great prizes so be sure to get your share of raffle tickets. There'll be lots to do, too much fun and never a dull moment.

Tickets are $12 at the door and $10 Advance
Advance tickets are available right here
from Brown Paper Tickets

Proceeds will benefit Sonoma County Time Bank
Sonoma County's hour for hour time and talent exchange
