Event Description

This will be a celebration of the New Year, 2016! Also this is the celebration of our Annual Hip Hop Holiday Monthly Donor Drive, we are aiming for 300 more monthly donors by January 1st! We are already 2/3 there!!! Help us reach our goal to be financially stable so we can keep teaching youth about social justice and Hip Hop culture, volunteering in the community, and throwing shows that support positive local artists with real messages!!

This is a special show, we have the potential to make Starline Social Club a monthly venue for our events, so let's pack the place and show them how we get down!

We are bringing together some of our favorite breakout artists in the Bay:

Ryan Nicole - http://www.msryannicole.com/ - Artist, activist, athlete, actress, she really is "Queen of Everything"

Deuce Eclipse - http://deuceeclipse.com/ - Nicaraguan singer, MC and activist, you can catch him on stage with Zumbi of Zion-I as well as the front man for the band Bang Data

Jeff Turner - http://www.jeffturnermusic.net/ Definition what it means to be an MC. With catchy, danceable songs with meaning and depth, and tons of lyrical ability, he doesn't make fans, he makes believers

Opening the show is our favorite radio hosts: Malik Diamond and Khafre Jay and your DJ's favorite DJ, the illustrious DJ Kevvy Kevv!!

Prentice Grant: From Vauxhall to Legacy — The Rise of an Independent Hip-Hop Force

The first time Prentice Grant realized music could change his life, he was just a kid in Vauxhall, New Jersey, staring at the TV. Two kids not much older than him were on the screen — backwards clothes, fearless energy, commanding the world. It was Kris Kross performing “Jump.”And in that moment, something clicked. It wasn’t just the beat.It wasn’t just the crowd. It was the power. From that day forward, Prentice didn’t just listen to hip-hop — he became it.He sharpened his pen studying legends.…See More
