Event Description

Marga Gomez (voted 2012 Best Comedian SF Bay Guardian and the SF Weekly) returns to La Peña two nights only for a supercharged stand up comedy performance guaranteed to bury the hopes of the Republican Right and send Mitt Romney’s career to a better place on ‘Day Of The Dead Republican,’ also referred to as “No Souls Day” by disaffected youth.

Borrowing from Latino ritual, Marga Gomez will construct an altar for Mitt Romney’s dead career with offerings of his favorite foods-- Jell-O, boiled potatoes, lemons, decaf coffee, used magic underpants, a lock from Paul Ryan’s widow’s peak. And tied to the top an adorable Irish Setter.  The audience is welcome to contribute to the shrine with offerings of whatever: wilted flowers, scissors, food stamps, tequila and four loco even if it’s a non Mormon approved substance. Marga Gomez will collect it all after the show. Marga will also conduct a candlelight procession around the block to say good riddance to Mitt Romney. The best Day of The Dead outfit in the audience will be awarded for prizes up to $5,000 depending on the scratch off ticket.
