Event Description

Grind for the Green
The Eco-lution will not be televised. It’ll be live and direct when the mighty and dedicated soldier M-1 of the monolithic Dead Prez graces us with his wisdom on the struggle as the keynote speaker of Grind for the Green's annual Eco-Music Conference on Saturday, July 18th, from 10AM to 2PM at SF State's downtown campus! This pedal-powered conference will feature a sustainability fair, giveaways, and a performance workshop.

We're looking for talented artists ages 14-24 with a positive message to compete in this year's eco-music festival competition and be a part of the largest youth green hip-hop event series. Two lucky contestants (one emcee and one producer) will win $1,000 each and will have their music featured on the upcoming G4G documentary. If you are interested in entering our competition, please email your mp3 song or beat to Ambessa Cantave at ambessa.negus@gmail.com by July 18th at 5PM. Be sure to include your legal name, artist name, age and title of your song or beat in the email.
All songs must be clean and must contain a message about the environment, justice or have a positive statement. They must be totally original in production and lyrics, and under 3min 45sec in length.
