 where they are and where they would like to go. A mix of studio interv
 iews and live footage shot in the neighborhoods of Oakland,each episod
 e profiles outspoken local activists, artists and non-profit organizat
 ions.\n\nEpisode One profiles the work of Oakland Native and celebrate
 d performance artist Ise Lyfe. As the owner and founder of Lyfe Produc
 tives, Ise Lyfe often spends his days in front of a classroom and his 
 nights on a stage.\nAs a hip hop artist, poet and educator Lyfe has ma
 de it a goal to focus on creating a popular culture of consciousness b
 y finding ways to make both standard and alternative education provoca
 tive. Young, African American and from the inner city, Ise Lyfe's path
  in life embodies the belief \" that where you are from does not have 
 to dictate who you become.\" Viewers of the Imagine Peace Series are i
 nvited to witness this young educator engage his students with stimula
 ting subject matter such as \"the neutralization of the black man\".\n
 \nThe Imagine Peace Documentary Series is apart of a multi media initi
 ative titled \"The Imagine Peace Project,\" which was conceived by Oak
 land natives and Producers Jasmene Miranda and Shomari Smith in partne
