Event Description

Already a huge underground star in his home country, where currently no veritable independent music scene exists, Sao Paulo, Brazil's bright-eyed musical prodigy Curumin (KOO-roo-mean) just relased "JapanPopShow" on Quannum Projects. This album combines the breeziness of MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira) with the melody of American pop music, topped off with Curumin's (aka Luciano Nakata Albuquerque's) distinct Portuguese croon.

"JapanPopShow is possibly the easiest way to tap in to Brazilian culture without actually going there. It's what we imagine a Sao Paulo beach party sounds like: funky drum circles, romantic Portuguese dialect and the intermittent smoke before bodyboarding pristine waves. With elements of dub, Afro funk, samba sould and hip-hop setting the mood, Curumin sounds like a Brazilian version of Jack Johnson on a mild Bonde Do Role kick ("Compacto.") Add to that some bossa nova guitar reminiscent of Joao Gilberto on "Esperanca" and you've got music that speaks to the soul." - REMIX

The Hated Crew to Release Highly Anticipated Album “DNA” June 5th

More than just another project, DNA represents the core identity of The Hated Crew—its influences, struggles, sound, and artistic vision woven together into one cohesive body of work. The title itself reflects the idea that music is embedded in the group’s very makeup. Every track explores the elements that form their musical “genetic code”: rhythm, storytelling,…See More

Cole Lumpkin Moves With the Music, Letting Life Shape Every Note

Cole Lumpkin doesn’t create from a distance. He creates from inside the moment. As a New York City native, his artistry reflects motion, curiosity, and constant self-interrogation. Music for Lumpkin isn’t something you step into once everything is figured out. It’s something you carry with you, refine on the move, and allow to grow alongside real life. A self-taught…See More
