When Brianna Perry’s name was read as a nominee for Best Female Hip Hop Artist at the BET Awards last year, some folks watching at home undoubtedly said, “Who?” But BET viewers who’ve been paying attention are already in the know when it comes to the 20-year-old Miami-based rapper. Her bouncy single “Marilyn Monroe” is one of the year’s surprise bangers, landing her an appearance on 106 & Park and on radio stations everywhere. And though she lost out at the BET Awards to Nicki Minaj, don’t be surprised if Perry makes a strong run at next year’s proceedings — and the year af Rapping since the age of three, Brianna has worked with Miami icons including Flo Rida and Trina, and has made appearances in videos for Trick Daddy & DJ Khaled. Missy Elliott gave Perry her first taste of success when she signed the rapper, then known as Lil Brianna, as a teen. Her flow is dope and her show is amazing!
