Event Description

Come join us for the launch of a new monthly party where we celebrate the distinct regional cultures of hip hop! Each month we will be featuring different guest DJs who will be selecting a different city or region and exploring the artists and music that have made that city's hip hop unique: from The A to Da Bay, Houstatlantavegas, NYC, The Chi, East Coast, West Coast, you get the picture.

This month we are lucky to have walking hip hop encyclopedia DJ Blaqwest (Chubby Fingers) and Bay favorite DJ Dials (Change the Beat) kick it off with the birthplace of hip hop, New York City!

From the old school to the brand new, they'll be mixing Sugar Hill with Jay-Z, Biggie to Rakim, Nas, KRS-One, 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Mary J Blige, DMX, Swizz Beatz, Cam'ron, ATCQ, Pete Rock, Run D.M.C., Gangstarr, Wu-Tang Clan, Foxy Brown, Mos Def, Talib, Slick Rick, Maino, De La Soul, Mims, Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, Roxanne Shante, Digable Planets, Lil Kim, Ultramagnetic MCs... the list goes on.

Resident DJ White Mike will also be holding it down with his favorites from the Empire State. The well is deep on this one and we've got some tricks up our sleeve(s)!

Entry is free before 11.
$10 after.
