SUMMARY:1320.SF :: Members of STS9, Nalepa Dub, Virtual Boy, Flying Sk
ulls, Savage Henry & Knowa Knowone
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by DAVID MURPHY (STS9)\n\n\nDAVID PHIPPS (STS9) - L
 IVE PIANO SET\n\nhttp://sts9.com\nhttp://www.myspace.com/sts9\nhttp://
 www.facebook.com/STS9BAND\n\n\nNALEPA DUB ORCHESTRA\n\nLA-based electr
onic musician, multimedia artist, music tech professor and mad scienti
st collector Steve Nalepa combines deep dub bass, glitchy beats, bioac
oustic atmospheres and beautiful rhodes melodies to create his patente
d brand of ambient glitch dub. Nalepa has produced tracks with such le
gends as Bill Laswell and Pharoah Sanders, performed with the LA Philh
armonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall, and shared the stage with some of
the most revered electronic musicians and video artists in the world.
He is joined by an all-star ensemble of his former students to perfor
m electro-symphonic audiovisual versions of his compositions as the Na
 lepa Dub Orchestra.\nhttp://www.myspace.com/nalepa\nhttp://www.stevena
lepa.com\n\n\nTHE FLYING SKULLS\n\nStraight dope on these Flying Skull
 s guys? They’re dirty. Big-ass gritty drums, grimy low-end, mucked u
p distorted synthesizers, dope West Coast vocalists, and dancefloor-re
nding beats with a cinematic depth meant for the very largest of sound
systems. They have shared billing with DJ Shadow, DJ Krush, Les Claypo
ol, Ghostland Observatory, Prefuse 73, STS9, Lotus, Amon Tobin, Bassne
ctar and Pretty Lights. Their latest release on 1320 Records was recen
tly described as, \"A heavyweight collection of nasty synths, wobbly b
asslines and crunked out glitchy beats so dirty you'd swear they robbe
d their MPC players off a crack dealer.\"\nhttp://theflyingskulls.com\
 nhttp://myspace.com/theflyingskulls\n\n\nVIRTUAL BOY\n\nHotwiring naug
hty synth lines and dancefloor-crushing beats with elegant harmonic te
xtures and twisted, pop-cultured hooks, Virtual Boy craft a grimy, cin
ematic sound all their own on the group’s debut EP “How Long Does
It Take To Get To Space?,” dropping July 21, 2009 on 1320 Records. B
ut even before Virtual Boy had an official release, taste-making DJs s
panning packed clubs to BBC Radio were spinning their atmospheric bang
ers, which owe as much to Bach and Mozart as they do to Justice, evoki
ng Air as much as Virtual Boy’s heroes-in-glitch Nosaj Thing and The
Glitch Mob. It may take Virtual Boy a minute to hit the cosmosphere,
but they might reach the top of their game much, much sooner.\nhttp://

AVAGE HENRY\n\nSavage Henry is a twisted new take on the DVJ performan
ce, painting a kaleidoscopic picture where cross-genre dance music pac
es the chaos of life's movie. Created and performed by SF Bay Area art
ists James Christopher and Brodie Sullivan, Savage Henry works with an
array of artists and producers to create custom sketches and original
music videos mixed live on the dancefloor. Henry's stage show combine
s multiple screens of synchronized visuals with hysterical sound-bite
laced songs to move audiences in laughter and dance. All together thei
r show is awed & outrageous... a treat for both the eyeholes AND earho
 les!\nhttp://www.mediavillain.com\n\n\nKNOWA KNOWONE\n\nKnowa Knowone
is a musician, artist and community instigator. His influences are bas
ed in ancient culture and mysticism fusing with technology, graffiti,
and urban life. As a Producer, DJ, Turntablist/Controllerist he brings
HipHop, Breakbeats, Dubstep, and Dancehall all together into a style
that is diverse yet distinct. Every song and performance is unique, wi
th influences from all over the world, ethnic and tribal layered beats
with bass heavy dance floor appeal.\nhttp://www.myspace.com/djknowone
